Machining is any of various processes where raw material is cut into a desired final shape and size by a controlled material-removal process. The types of raw materials that can be used in machining are wood, plastic, ceramic, and composites. Most machining is done by a CNC machine which allows for high precision and high manufacturing rates. Some of the most common items that are created by machinist are ventilators, bolt plates, rims for tires, and parts for machines.
